This “hummus” is so delicious it actually taste like a healthy mousse! I found this recipe and picture on Pop Sugar. I modified it slightly for the ultimate sweet treat!


-1 can of chickpeas (preferably Eden Organics because they are soaked*see post: The “Right” Way to Eat Nuts, Seeds, Grains and Legumes)

-5 pitted dates

-1/4 cup almonds or almond butter (note: if you are using almonds, soak them according to the instructions in the post mentioned above* and grind them in a food processor until a nut butter consistency is reached)

-2-4 tbsp of unsweetened, raw cocoa powder (depending how how chocolatey you like it!)

-2 tsp real maple syrup

-1 tsp pure vanilla extract

-1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

-1/2 cup almond milk (unsweetened)


Drain and rinse the chickpeas and add them to a food processor along with all the other ingredients. Blend the ingredients until smooth and creamy! Enjoy on sprouted grain toast as a Nutella-like spread along with strawberries, bananas or use a fruit dip for apples! It’s even good all by itself… Like mousse!
